A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin

Book two of the Game of Thrones series. I found this book a little more plodding than the first. Great world building, but the myriad of references to hundreds of people and places in the past seemed a bit irrelevant to the story. Perhaps some of them will play a part later in the series or in a spin off.
