A guide to the good life {the ancient art of stoic joy} by William B. Irvine

I always wanted to learn a little bit of philosophy and I happened to come across Stoicism while browsing aimlessly on the web. It seemed to match my personality, or more precisely, the type of life I wanted to live.

I first tried Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, but I found it difficult to interpret in the context of ancient Rome.

A Guide to the Good Life was much more approachable for me. It outlined the main talking points of Stoicism in a comprehensible fashion.

I think I will continue reading Stoicism books. It helps to continually keep the Stoicism practices in mind during every day life.

5/5 stars.
