I, Robot by Isaac Asimov

I picked up Isac Asimov’s book I Robot for cheap at a used bookstore. I was quick to discover upon reading the opening chapter that the only concept the movie shares with this book is that of the three laws of robots. The plot, characters and settings are completely different. And like most books that have been adapted into movies, I enjoyed the book better than the movie.

The chapters are broken up into separate tales, each a mystery regarding seemingly perplexing robot behavior. Asimov explores the nuances and overlooked outcomes that could arise from developing true artificial intelligence in a charmingly intriguing style. The short book moves at a quick pace and leaves one fascinated with what the future could potentially hold.

I recommend this book to computer science enthusiasts, futurists, and generally anyone interested in technology.
