Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution by Chris DiBona, Sam Ockman, and Mark Stone

This book is a collection of fascinating essays by legendary people in the open source software community. Eric Raymond, Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman and others contribute to provide a personalized look at the history of open source software and how it evolved over the years. I was particularly interested in the stories from founders who built their businesses creating open source software, such as Michael Tiemann’s Cygnus Solutions. I was so impressed with this book that I immediately ordered the sequel Open Sources 2.0.

5/5 stars.
